Graphics 2 Assignment

For this assignment, the program GIMP was used to edit the scene. I wanted to include images of all my children in the scene. For Hazel the monarch, I created a reflection image by using the transform feature to horizontally flip a duplicate of the picture and then I changed the opacity to make it look like a reflection on the water. For the "tiger," peeking out of the flower bush, I used the transparency feature to get ride of the background. I then used the lasso tool to create a self made cut of an image with flowers in it to make it look more like a bush of flowers. For the "pirate," I also used the transparency tool to get rid of the background, but I also changed the color to more sepia to match the sand. For both of the sand patches, I cut out the part of the sand I wanted from a picture I had taken and then used the eraser tool and several different types of brushes to get a textured look. For the elephant, I used the transparency feature and then cut out a butterfly from another picture I had taken and landed it directly on the elephant. All pictures were taken from pictures I had taken throughout the years and edited in some way.
